ALArMS!! ..Part 2

Then came the days of college .. The problem started, when I had to attend interviews for my first, brand new shiny job .. Now the firms were not always in the vicinity and I had to travel quite a distance, not to say much about the jerks who loved to schedule these interviews as early as possible .by that I mean 9 am .. So an hour of travelling or more would mean starting at 8 or even before .. But considering traffic jams or flat tyres which were a common occurance.. had to give it another 30 mins.. And then take the time for getting ready and the figure of waking up was a shocking 7 am .. And there the given up alarm clocks came along .. So set up the poor things again .. Asked mom and S to wake me up just in case.. A lil bit abt S .. S is a kind of person who , if has to be at a particular place at a particular time say 'X' will be at the particular place at a time ranging from 'x-2' to x-3' hours .. So comes the day of the interview .. Now tensed that I was about the interview but more so about reaching the place.. But that was totally unnecessary coz S called up home at 4.30 am with specific instructions to get ready on time and promptly clanged the gates at 5.30 am .. Well we started from home at 5.35... With not a soul in sight .. not even the early rays of the sun .. And reached the firm at 6.15 am..

The watchman at the gate looked at us with wonder and asked me ' enamma aen baeku ' translated that means 'what do u want' .. With a dazed look I told him that I had come for 'The interview' ..
He looked at me with amazement .. Shook his head muttered to himself and went back to his cozy chair.. And S and me stood there cold and hungry .. I had the ' I cannot believe and even if I can i dont want to believe' look .. And S had the ' we made it on time thank god! ' look..
By the time it was 9 .. All I wanted was breakfast and some sleep .. Needless to say .. My first job was not with this company ..

Little did i know then that S would be a replacement to my ineffective alarm clocks for many years to come.. To say it was effective would be a gross understatement.. Necessary or not my new alarm (S) would ensure I woke up at least 1 to 2 hours earlier than required.. ( reason : just in case u know )

9 AM's actually pretty decent...for us, sometimes the interviews are in the middle of the night...
